There are several reasons why people play this game and it won't make more money for Big Point.(BP) These reasons range from the 'that was irratating' to the disaster 'I can't even log in to this B**ping site'. It's hard to spend money when you can't connect or are constantly irratated by updates that create more problems than they fix. These are all annoying but they are not BP's biggest problem with this game. The biggest problem is the social aspects, or lack thereof of this game.

There is so little interactivity with the friends section that it'd be better if they didn't have it in the first place. So I can friend someone. That's great, I'll send him a message telling him in game that I'm happy having a new friend... ohhh wait, i can't do that. That's ok I'll send him a gift where I can show him with an action that I appreciate him being a friend.... oh wait i can't do that either. Ok, I know what I'll do; I'll go find the global, guild, private friends chat and msg back and forth with him that way..... oh wait, I can't even do that in this game. This lack of interaction with others in game has basically killed this game. I've been playing sinse before it came out of beta, and I am still waiting on being able to send a gift to a friend. So what might Rising cities do to offset this lack of being able to 'connect to others' in rising cities, after all BP has other games which offers the ability to connect to others.

The one thing that would show others immediatly would be to enable the gifts section. Make it so we can send one gift per day, week or even year (i'd be able to send at two gifts so far!) would be nice to another person. Make it small but enough to establish a connection. Maybe make it so they get it as a bonus pop up when they click on the town hall, so they'll know when to expect it coming in and can see it then. Let them know who they got it from what it is and what else the town hall gives them. If someone doesn't care about that, make it so you can turn pop ups off in a control button. Gifts are nice but they are just a first step in the right direction.

A second thing that would show you are serious about the social aspect would be to create political parties (guilds, clans, and gangs in other social type games) They could send emergencies to other political parties and let some of their buildings go out of control, or they could increase bushes and take or remove good things people want in their waterways like the barrels and trees. Maybe even make a political party house in the city where you can get bonuses for controlling it in your and other peoples cities. That way only people who build that building get the chance to engage in this challenge. Make it so it maybe adds a +5% to -5% in every city that you control. I could see people spending money on rallys and other political fun stuff as a good way to get higher level players to spend and get rid of their money for such control.

A third thing to do would be to enable a chat function. I know this would require more moderators and rising cities doesn't have the population for this, but if you create a party(guild) system you could always limit it to private or political party(guild) chats. I notice that most of the problems in BPs chat come from a global chat which any noob with multiple accounts can join. Then hold the guild party leader responsible for this chat with kicking or banning per hour powers which should let every guild keep their chat how they want their chat to run. After all most people don't want their party(guild) leader on their bad side or they get kicked from the guild.

Interesting ideas. I would enjoy a chat function in the game and the ability to more easily to communicate with my friends online. The political parties with plus or minus for sabotaging others cities does not excite me. This would significantly change the make up of the make up of the game and would no longer be the game I am playing. Therefore you would lose me as a player. So I hope these concepts do not get put in place.

Don't worry this is a casual game :p ... if someone want more action there are a lot of other BP-games to choose from. .... so you have friends  ... Tellus gonna be very very happy ;)

I'm with you on the political party thing...play Grepolis or something if you want that. However, I think enabling the long promised gifting function is a darn good idea (it's been "Coming Soon" for a loooong time RC). Would love to help some of my friends with PP or EP which I have so much of. As for chat, also a great idea and would increase your player count and time spent playing (I believe). Hey, RC, take a look at POGO free games. The chat thing there is a simple sidebar, and you could do that here. HINT: I pay $40 for POGO and also buy GEMS there. You could get more business if this game had such features, I'd be willing to bet :)
