St. Paddy's Day: 2016 Event?

Ok, here we go again (wheeeeee) I was impressed with the responses and ideas everyone gave the last couple of times I brought up the idea of a St. Paddy's Day special event. Knowing how long it takes BP to implement new things, I figured if we brought it up again and maybe added a poll, we might actually see this happen next year. The poll might consolidate the main point (X number of votes saying "We want a St. Paddy's Day event" being easier to digest than a dozen pages of thread replies).

As for my own suggestions: this would be a nine stage event (much like the other holiday based events). For the top prize(s) there could be a commercial building "Pub", essentially a beer garden with a different skin, and maybe a special residential building done in green and gold tones. Epic RI(s) that are for needs revenue or rent bonuses would be nice, as well as standard event prizes. There could also be a special decoration prize like a 2x2 patch of clover with a pot of gold and a rainbow.
Drop items could be shillelaghs, kilts, and green hats...street boulder items could be pots of gold or snakes in honor of the root of the holiday (snakes being driven from Ireland by St. Paddy). Production requirements could include green beer or stout, potatoes and cabbages, four leaf clover cookies, even sharp white cheddar if you have dairy farms.

So here's hoping a lot of you will take the time to share your thoughts and ideas yet again, and that the devs will decide this is a good idea (and give us a St. Paddy's Day sppecial event come 2016). That gives them plenty of time to implement the idea. Please cast a vote and leave a comment with your ideas and opinions. Thank you, my fellow Mayors

 

As if me picture does no speak for itself Would love to see this event, of course. You could grow clovers at the farms, and bagpipes could be cleared from streets (boulders). Here's my idea...do like the special champagne birthday packs; for each of five portions of the event stages, have residents dropping four-leaf clovers, and have these turn in for special lucky clover booster packs. Residents can drop green cloth bolts for appropriate costumes, and there would be green beer of course. As the main event prize I would love to see a nice cottage with an oak tree in the yard, or a Pub with a loft above it where residents live (they have those in the Old Country). Here's hoping that this time around the dev team will actually do this

 

I think that this is a wonderful idea and think it would be Soooo much fun!

Many of us are aware that, some of us do not know, so thanks for the reiminder. Now to get the team to develop the idea and implement it into an actual event.

 

I recall when you did that for us and was grateful (you did a good job on it). The St. Paddy's Day event idea has gone around every year since I've been here, and still no event Hopefully, this poll thread will get the dev's attention and next year we will see the event. @promaster202...feel free to repost that event chart here. Maybe then the devs will see how easy it would be to give us this event.

I like the idea of this event promaster, an event like this should be much harder, It seems that the requirements are very low for the rewards given. the devs would not be that generous i am sure lets hope they get to have a look at it anyway

 

promaster's chart is just an example to show the devs how easily the event could be set up and done...and he doesn't have the experience the devs have on balancing out the rewards. But 'tis the thought that counts I also hope the devs will do this event....even if we will have to wait yet another year for it

Green beer at that, aye. I think it would be great to see them do this next year. That allows plenty of time for the event to be developed and implemented; and it's not like we don't have other holiday special events. Plus there is a clear theme on this one, and it should be fairly easy to put together. *Pours round of Guiness for all* Here's to St. Paddy's Day RC 2016 *clink*

 

I still want the Pub from the last thread we did on this subject.

Reminder -- One of the rewards was an Irish Pub that had the same benefits costs of a Beer Garden but had a different more Irish Pub appearance. Thought that would have been a fun addition to the city.

Are you telling me people have turned down additional Beer! What a horrible thought.

You do know that bagpipes are more of a Scottish thing but Irish people do use them. I like your post also i thin the event would be good , waiting for 2016 aye , can't wait.
