Medals are stored in your Warehouse under special items section, there you can check how many you have.
You will need to save up 125 to be able to upgrade one department.

Please let us know if you need more assistance.

Um ... quoting from your own recent Official Announcement, Wizz, you no longer upgrade ERS buildings with medals; instead you use CC or materials (actually, when I went to upgrade my Police Station, there were pictures of 3 materials [didn't note them down] but the only available button said 150,000 ... the 150,000 CCs were taken from my 'bank,' but I don't believe the materials were ... and I wasn't given an option to use materials or MM instead of CC, possibly because I didn't have enough MM???):

"Emergency Building changes Now you have the possibility to use CC, building material or MM to upgrade your Emergency Buildings.
    You don’t need medals anymore."

Take a look at posting date.
This was posted dec 4, the removal of medals was done dec 9.
In other words this post was correct when it was posted.

  5. :D :D Tellus ! Have you done it again? :D :D

My own fault for not locking this thread:)
    Here is the explanation:
Upgrading Emergency Buildings like Fire House, Police Station and Hospital now require materials & city credits or MetroMoney.

This is how upgrading should look like:

Choosing to upgrade using materials and city credits, you must have all available and they will be deducted instantly from your treasury/warehouse without any timed stage.

FAQ will also be updated shortly.

Yeah, that was a gentle poke at Wizz, I knew the OA came out after his first post in this thread; no hard feelings, I hope?

So, I must not have paid close attention: You're saying it cost me the $150K + the materials. Ouch. On the other hand, that's actually a pretty standard L3 upgrade price for mid-level buildings, but I kinda wish I'd been able to use my Silver Medals (was less than 10 short of the requirement just prior to the switch-over from medals to cash+materials). Yes, I was able to redeem the Medals for stuff, but the prizes weren't worth writing home about (which is an American colloquialism essentially meaning, they sucked :)) ... with the exception of 1 surveillance outpost and 1 Water Tower Home, the first building I've won in 90 Medal / Sub-Level Comet / Loot-O-Matic redemption chances. I lied; I once won a Small Prefab Home in LOM.

Which is a long way of saying, maybe this whole ERS thing isn't worth the effort :) ... If you're still listening colinthorne1982, you might consider shelving the ERS altogether by moving your main emergency buildings (Fire House, Police Station, Hospital) into storage.

Personally, I'm keeping mine active just to torture myself and to add a bit more realism to the game (surely emergencies and the personnel who handle them are a true component of a real-life mayor's responsibilities).

  8. And RL mayors do get a lot of tomatos and potatos for handling them too, so everything is okey then. :p :D :p

PS: Like your american coloquialism. :)
