Need an engineer for fire department

Now i have four rookies, too many. I need an engineer. How can i have it?
Or the game selects the position randomly?

 

The selection of specialist is done randomly. All you can do is keep sending out your rookies on emergencies to get experience they will eventually earn enough points to become a specialist.

 

I would add that you can sometimes guide the process to get what you want by sending rookies on certain types of emergencies; you want an engineer, send them for rooftop rescues and tree removals...a contamination expert, send them on sewage leaks and beer spills...etc. I have found this often will eventually get that rookie an offer of the desired specialty. Not quite as random as it looks, actually.

 

The Moderators have always declared that it is a random system. I will have to try your logic and see what happens. Thanks.

 

Everytime I needed a engineer - I send a certain rookie - now she's an engineer - I don't know if it Works everytime.

 

It works most of the time but not all; even random chaos has patterns. Sometimes it takes a long time...but usually it pans out.
