    Hi,

I read this posting about how we can collect production points for a residence (https://board-en.risingcities.com/threads/production-points-education-points.1118/), and I have fulfilled those requirements but it does not work for some of the residences in my city.

I have two Prefab Homes and two Suburban Homes which give me production points (next to a Vegetable Stand) but there is another Prefab Home next to these which does not. I wasn't sure if it was perhaps the boundary of coverage of the Vegetable Stand (even though the tick indicates it is not the issue) so I have just built another Vegetable Stand in case that was the problem but it still doesn't seem to work. Would you be able to tell me what I am doing wrong?

I have assigned workers to these buildings.
    My ID is 8869413

    Kind Regards,
    Wendy

  2. yes every commercial has a coverage area, if you hover your pointer over the vege stand all residences covered by it will be highlighted, if one isn't highlighted you may have to upgrade your vege stand of move the residence
alternatavly it could be a display problem. clearing cache logging out etc may help

Vegetable Stand (level 1) cover two squares in all directions. Its enough to cover even a small part of a house.
    Level 2, 3 squares and 3 is 4 squares.
Its much cheaper to build many lvl1 then few lvl2 and3 but later on you want lvl3 anyway as they store much more and are way easier to handle.
This helps a lot to see cover, just mouse over your vege.

Always remember to have some extra tomatoes in stock so you don't run out, extra important if you do an event.

    More tips here.

The other question is what type of residents do you have in your homes? You only receive Prodution points from Workers, Education Points from Students, and CC's from Capitalists. So check and make sure you have the correct type of resident you want in the resdence you are talking about.

  5. Is there anything else that we can help you with on this topic Wendy?

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. However, as I explained above, I have two vegetable stands that more than cover those residences. Both vegetable stands are stocked with tomatoes and I have workers residing in there. I have cleared cache and it is not a display problem. I think I need someone to go into my game and see what is going on?

I have taken a screenshot but have not got a place to upload it to.

    Kind Regards,
    Wendy

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply also. But the Prefab Home and row of Suburban Homes are covered by both Vegetable stands. I have read the FAQ and see that I have fulfilled all needs for the Workers, who live inside, to provide Production Points hence my confusion. What can I do to solve this issue?

    Kind Regards,
    Wendy

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I have Workers living in there and have satisfied all conditions to get the Production Points as far as I have read up on. Can somebody help me look into my account?

    Kind Regards,
    Wendy

As you will see I have moved one of your veg stands so it services the last building please note that the blue square is the area they cover so when you click on the stand the square was just short of the building so did not work.
Now that I have moved the stand two spaces slower it works?.

Would add that what may appear in regular view to be covered may not actually be covered; a look in foundation view often reveals buildings that look like they are in that blue square are just one row beyond it. I also did not see clear reference to the houses' level as opposed to the veggie stands' level. Prefabs won't give any actual revenues for needs until they have been upgraded to Level 3 themselves, and the Suburbans are Level 2 if not Level 3 (I forget which). Not until the single family home do you get needs revenues right off the bat. So you may be "covered" but not actually able to produce until the houses are upgraded.

Thank you so much - it looks like it is fixed and a couple of the Suburban Homes now reap in Production Points now too, whereas before they didn't. Perhaps, they were also refreshed by you going into them.

Now I understand the game a bit more :)

Yes, I didn't realise it was just the blued out buildings cos one row around it, the buildings still have a tick from being around the building. Good spotting!

You are welcome, and don't feel bad...I had the same problem when I first started and had the reason pointed out to me by the friend who got me into RC. That is why I knew to look for it ;) As some of the guys above noted, upgrading the veggie stand can resolve that by increasing coverage area. I have also noted that by putting buildings two rows deep with roads around, and staggering veggie stands through them, I can cover many more houses than by just clustering around a veggie stand. Foundation view gives you the best idea of what will fit where and be covered. If you are just getting started, as soon as you can build (Urban Cottage, Terraced Row House, Brownstones) you want to do so, as they are your production and education point powerhouses early in the game (along with the tenements you can win at the Flea Market event). Good luck and happy gaming :)
