This question has probably been asked and answered a million trillion times but here goes. why cant we have more room to build more houses ?? I have roughly 350 building permits but no where to build them, forgive me I am not a very technical person but the main city, if all the clouds were removed there looks to be loads of room. I love this game its helped me through giving up smoking but I am just a little bored now almost having to spend lots of money to re-design my city. Don't want no fancy place like old Rome or underwater yes I am sure it would look stunning and yes an airport a railway line, a cable car. Cowboy saloons and Cavemen. But for now why cant we just have more room for the people like me who just love R.C and want to make there city bigger. Wrighty8 ID 4685170

I think we don't need extra room.

well that's a conversation stopper !!!!! you must have a larger city than me then, I will ring my local housing officer and see if they can make use of 350 building permits .

We need diverse houses, not more place for the same buildings. This game fails in variety of buildings, levelled buildings can hardly make the diversity in the city.

I think we have enough enough types of buildings.

    It's never enough diversity.

I agree we need more land and more diversity in buildings; I also note we have received more land and more diversity in buildings...in the form of three additional playing fields, additional Mayor Levels and houses that go along with both, as well as the Level 4 mastery challenge upgrades and a few new special buildings. Do we need yet more land, etc. Well, yeah, unless we want to simply "stall out" once we fill what's already there. I also have permits beginning to pile up, and will have to scramble to place what I have in the available land space. But I am also reworking my city, eliminating unnecessary lower level deco in favor of higher level deco (and better coverage via commercial building upgrades) to make more room. So even if we get more new fields and more new houses, eventually that will fill up also, and right back to square one we shall be. My message is not we don't need it, more that we are getting it and will likely still get more, but that it takes time for the devs to create and implement such things. There is always the option of starting a new city whilst waiting for new fields and houses to be released. I've found it can be just as much fun designing a new city, applying what one has learned from building the first.

Firstly, well done on trying to give up smoking :) Fantastic that playing RC helps with taking your mind of it. Reason enough for another playing field alone! ;) I think Geflin sum's it up very well for the higher level players here in two words: "Stall out". I would think BP would be well aware that to maintain higher level players they need to provide a new playing field (or two), together with a whole suite of new buildings etc. We got the the coastal playing field fairly early - which was good as the land is much cheaper - and then the suburbs and mountains very close together. Not sure why the mountain playing field was provided so early though as it takes a lot of levels to really be able to build anything on it. I digress. I support everyone that would like more playing fields and more diversity in buildings/production. Great game. Good luck again wrighty with that smoking

If one looks at the map of available land areas, the section directly above (North) of the suburbs certainly looks like the next field BP/RC intends to give us. Since we did receive three new fields over the past year or so, I am confident the devs are listening to us voice our woes. Especially true since newer players and higher level players are more likely to expend MM on their cities...the former to get ahead and the latter to add special items and such. As relevant to the topic here, that would mean providing new fields so higher level players had somewhere to put such new buildings and thus a reason to spend MM. But that is just my opinion ;) I think if we keep discussing openly what we want and our ideas for it, the devs will give us what they can when they can. Just keep in mind the coding and other resources (and time) it takes to do so.

True that would be one of the areas ripe for development. But look to the West young man. There could be two or three expansion sites that side also.
    1. West of the Beach around the end of the bay to the south end of the original play field. My favorite for the suggested industrial area.
    2. West of the Mountain area could or could not run as far south as the original play field. Could be a Desert, plains, steppe type area. Lots of farmland, water supplies, and clay pits. Would that not be nice. We would need a bridge to cross the river but we have done those before. It would be an interesting challenge.
    3. West of the original play field. Just keep the City growing on out to the horizon or another suburb.
    4. North of the Mountain play field. This could be a river valley themed area or a special themed area.
    5. East of the Suburbs or the Seashore. There could be an Island field I was thinking along the lines of Key West or Capri or choose your own favorite island play ground. Again we would need to build bridges or ferriy service but this could be interesting. A new road type a causeway fairly expensive maybe have to supply at least one draw bridge section. Or building ferry building and ramps in the appropriate plots on the shore connected to the City Hall maybe a 3x3 or 4x4 building in the suburb or beach and a matching one on the island.
    The options are unlimited

I think we already have more than enough place for buildings and there is no need to add more.

You might Krassandra, but in wrighty's opening post he is presumably at such a high level that he has used all his available plots of land. Given the number of threads on this issue, it's obviously a problem for high level/long term players. Even though I dont have this issue (yet), I support those that do. Anything that expands the game and provides interest is surely a good thing regardless of what level your on?

I do not think it is fair to low levels.

Hmmmm...with all due respect, I feel compelled to respectfully point out the painfully obvious. Since the Seacoast, Suburbs, and Mountain play fields all unlock at certain Levels as you Level up (beginning at Level 19), providing every single player with exactly the same amount of newly available land once they reach a Level they will need more land for (and this is the developers' intended design)...it would stand to reason that as you reach higher Levels and acquire new building permits you would need additional land; it also implies any additional play fields to those we have would unlock as you reached the Levels where they would become needed. There is, simply put, absolutely no way in which this could be unfair to lower Level players. Nor could it be truthfully said that more land is not needed for those who have advanced far enough to fill everything available. How is it unfair to a Level 1-18 Player (who doesn't yet need more land) that a Level 25 Player gets Suburbs and Mountains? How is it unfair then, if higher Levels get additional fields, in keeping with the game system as it already is in place?

I support everyone's right to their own opinion(s) and free expression of their thoughts. However, I would add that the forum is intended to be a friendly community environment, for sharing and discussion. I think most of us would agree that intentionally fostering argument for the sake of argument is an unnecessary and unwelcome disruption of the forum's purpose.

just to say I am a level 54 Mayor and apart from the mountains (which you have to buy more houses with mm) and bits of the sea, I have no room for any more buildings. so I was just asking for some where else to build the 350 or so permits I have to grow my city. CLUE is in the GAME (rising cities)??? cant rise with no playing field. Thanks for your comments
