  1. Good evening,

I would like people to take this as an idea, Can the devs add in a scenario where there is a freak storm and it destroys your city's power but you have a emergency power system, you that should be introduced in the game, when you have no power you should not be able to produce or create buildings. However the emergency power could uses to help the emergency department a energy production sites to have power and do it temporarily, there should be a timer on the event and how long until the power runs out. During the scenario there should be panic and the people should be animated to rob, destroy, and kill for food and power and the emergency services are trying to keep it all together. Meaning that death and injury bar should be introduced, this is a an idea, I would love for the devs, moderator and administrator to think about it, it is a good idea and I hope you should consider it because it is a good one. Sorry for making this to long and I did take ages typing this so please consider this idea. Please post replies and comments. thank you everyone. :)

    Yours Sincerely,

    Captain123456

They already had something similar worked into the Emergency System itself...you had to repair the building damaged during the emergency. The bad part was this seriously reduced available construction materials for new buildings and/or upgrades, and tended to happen more during events (making it extremely difficult to complete an event). There are already "disaster" elements inherent in the emergency system. Not to mention this is more a family friendly game environment...I don't see riots and robberies being animated as what RC is all about. Not saying your idea is bad...and I do encourage you to continue presenting your ideas and don't give up even if others disagree...just not seeing how this particular idea would work any better than the existing emergencies system.

I think perhaps modifying the existing emergency system to make the emergencies actually "harmful" again would be a better way to implement this idea. My only frustration with the previous system was the seeming coincidence that emergencies happened far more frequently and far more severely during events than when events were not running, thus unbalancing the actual difficulty of completing an event. No fun playing a game when completing an event requires production to run (for example only) 75% of available time and "random" emergencies knocked available production time to 74% every time you tried to do the event. Not that it was that bad, but it could be problematical. As for non-event times, I always thought the down time and damage to add realism to the game. Then again, I fail to see how the populace getting food poisoning and needing a medic would cause damage to a building requiring 200 beams to repair (lol). But if they brought back the damage factor and made sure it did not make it "impossible" to complete events, then I would be for something along those lines. Because I agree that harmless "emergencies" don't make much sense.

I did not enjoy the destructive aspect of the emergency system when it was working that way. As Geflin says it made life difficult and did not really make much sense most of the time. Rewards did not come close to comparing to level of damage. I like the fact I can build something and not have it destroyed by a randomn computer generated scenario. There is a system currently in place that limits power when the mood of our cities falls below a certain level. To me a better fix would be to get the Resdential Improvement mood bug fixed which would make the rent and production levels more of a challenge for us all.

Thanks for the idea Captain like Geflin I disagree but keep coming up with the ideas.

  7. I don't like the suggestion. The game is great (even if needs improving here and there), and I like it because is peacefull. I like it because I can relax when playing, collecting rent and producing different materials. Of course, it could be boring after a while, doing the same things over and over again.
However, this could be implemented only if we could chose to activate it or not. Not to log in the game when we have some free time and (like Krassandra said), to have our Condos destroyed.

After all, there are lots of games with these kind of scenarios.

  8. i agree Daniel, i started to play rising cities nearly 2 years ago and the when an emergency happened you had to repair the building with lumber and beams, i found i was manufacturing these just to repair my buildings and struggled to amass enough materials to build new residences, i was about to give rc a big miss when this scenario changed and you didnt need to spend materials to repair buildings the balance of the game totally changed for the better and i am still here :)

I would not play RC if there was a destructive element as suggested. The emergency system works quite well as it is in my opinion :)

I think it could work well but like others have said it could make things challenging on Rising Cities. So I have voted for maybe.

  11. Good Evening,

I know that people have expressed the feelings about my idea of a emergency scenario I do take it in that it may not be what everyone wants so maybe it is not such a good idea, i f my idea gets re modified it would probably become a good idea, I have other ideas and good suggestions and want people to think about it. The danger aspect would be bad I know but if it was in the game people would get use to it but on the other hand people may not like it so maybe a danger aspect is not so good but the other part in my idea is good so yeah. the power out part in the idea is a good thing so yeah. However after reviewing this Not many people like it also if people like it it's some parts of my idea is wrong, I hope you go and check out my other post about the summer event because it is a good idea also check out my other threads. the summer event idea is a good one and everyone like it so please check it out and post you opinions on that and my threads. I thank you all for posting your ideas also keep posting also I will read them. :) :)

Captain do not worry if some of us do not agree with your ideas. You do have some good ones and not every idea can be a perfect match. That is what the forum is for. You make a suggestion and others comment on it pro and con or suggestions and improvements. So keep the ideas coming. Your next one could be stellar. ;)

You can find them under various titles, authors, and subjects. You could just click on the forum>speakers corner button and cruise through the various threads. There are twenty four pages of them at this time in just the speakers corner as of this posting.

You started this thread and poll, so am confused that you have to ask where to find threads? A "thread" is a posting started by someone on a topic, to which others respond...yours here is about the emergency system and your ideas. As I recall, you also started a thread called Summer Event...and you click an option ("Create New Thread") to do that. As wise Sir Cat says, clicking on "Forums" or even "New Posts" will show you listings of various threads.
