So if anyone is as sick of this as me, here is a hint. Seems they don't want to fix this or even admit it's a RC bug and not a Cineplex advertising error. All they have to do is set the border right, but they won't. Looking for the X Close button?? Here it is. After you click the close button, good luck finding your mouse pointer...

Hmm. Everyone seems to have different issues with this. I had so many issues with trying to play RC generally with Windows 7, and the Cineplex particularly. In the end I gave up and use Ubuntu as a Windows 7 guest in a virtual Machine running the firefox browser. Although adobe no longer updates the flash player for this, I now have very few issues. I assume you have current video drivers installed as the end of your video looks like a graphics issue? Or perhaps you finished before allowing the close dialogue to open properly ?

EDIT: You are in fact quite correct. I have just tried with numerous different browsers and PC's with the same result. This is relatively new and regardless of the lack of any control directly here, it needs to be fed back to Bigpoint to be changed. The add blocker now covers the entire RC Frame with the movie showing whithout a dialogue screen. I have to reload the entire game to get rid of the Movie screen. Not good. :(

A hint that has been working for me is to reload frame I have had some success with this technique. You may have to repeat this a couple of times to get through the process.

Trust me, the mods and devs care quite a bit and bugs do get looked into and fixed. Sometimes it just takes awhile.

I'm glad someone posted about this. It's annoying enough to try to watch movies back to back, only to get an error saying that "no movies are available" (there are, you just apparently have to wait longer to view the next one) or get the be.sponsorpay (spelling?) ad window with no ad to play, but this issue with no X to close the window means we have to log out of the game to clear the screen. Once logged out, how many folks say "forget it" and don't log back in? That's definitely lost revenue.

I'm sure they're working on this, as it IS an important bug, but I just felt the need to add my two cents' worth for the frustration it's causing me.

I have found that even if you do not get a video. You do have to wait the time elapse as if the video ran it full length before you can receive the next video. This is not an absolute, some times the cineplex lets you go at once, but when you can not get in you just have to wait the two or five minutes till the video should have finished before trying again. Hope this helps. o_O

I agree that this is a newish problem so my 2 cents as well in case it helps. I was happy to get the occasional 5MM when the movie actually worked, but now you can't kill the window easily when some movies just sit there. You used to be able to kill it but now only a browser refresh gets rid of this. I will avoid it now completely until it goes back to how it was. Will keep an eye on this thread :(:)

Tassie mentioned in another thread that he will pass this new issue up the line, so fingers crossed :)

I think the problem is that the cineplex is designed to fit videos to one size x by y and some of the vendors try to fit their prepacked videos which are x+m by y+n into that format without considering the restriction. leading to the video not fitting on to the screen. Therefore this would not be Big Points issue. Would be nice if they passed it on to the vendors. Which Tassie I am certain did.

Yawn!! Hmm let me see if I can explain this, if you let someone into your house, that person follows your code of rules, if not then they can leave. Right? Same here, BP sets the rules of conduct for code, it IS on their end to set a limit on boarder size, even if vendors send X size boarder, BP should have X = Y size no matter what. I don't think this is something new the vendors are doing, this was suddenly changed on BP's end, now it's a pain in my arse and it's going to take months to fix something they broke in 1 day.

The rules I am sure are specific for the vendors, and these appear to be new vendors. I have not seen them before in over two years of viewing. I do not think they have done this maliciously I think it was an over site or some one not paying attention to a detail. Like trying to put ten kilos of sugar in a five kilo bag in does not fit. You are correct it will probably take a while to be fixed.

Please note that if we all just spend a little cash on RC they will have more resources to help fix the issues we are having. And yes they make a nice $$'s from them adds , but only if people are watching them. I think we all should just stop watching them for the 5mm, Until the issue is fixed. That will buy them a little less time here talking about it and the need to get the adds back up and getting watched or no $$ from the vendors. I am sure the have seen it with their own eyes by now, and are thinking getting stuck watching a endless video or the screen just frozen is not not good for the game or the vendors. #1 We will become more likely not to buy from that vendor #2 we will be less likely to spend money on a game that's making us mad. you see they will be working on this if we just give them the time and resources to do so.;)

And I am thinking pink is just not your color and it's hurting my eyes. could you please use blue or black. pigments of red of any kind are harder to read and bad for the eyes.

Yep, I'm having the same problem. I open the film screen and so often there is not a film that is on so it is just a blank screen and I can't close it.

I think we all need to realize that when coding conflicts occur it can take a long time to sort out. One code error can cause a cascade of errors until you have to spend weeks finding the spiderweb of cracks in your wall of code (to turn a metaphoric phrase). Otherwise, it just cascades all over again. Sure, I am oversimplifying; however, I am sure this is not intentional on anyone's part. Neither BP/RC nor the vendors gain from the Cineplex malfunctioning. I have written code (though it's been many a year) and know how long it can sometimes take to get the beast to roll over instead of play dead...especially when trying to make two differing sources compatible. Plus, if Tassie passed it up the chain, it will get remedied I am sure. Just my two cents...because I also agree we need to keep open discussion going, and that problems don't get fixed unless they are talked about.
