Can't finish Farmers Market before level 20

I'm about to hit level 20 and I haven't yet finished the farmers market task. I've tried a few times, but didn't finish completely. At this point, in order to finish it I would need my farms upgraded to the 3rd level, but this isn't going to happen in time, so it's actually impossible for me to complete this task. Is there any way around this? or will it stay as an uncompleted quest on the left hand side of my screen forever?

 

If you mean the introductory event task, I think as long as you complete any event it will trigger completion as you've evidently surpassed the allotted time allowed. The simplified farmer's market is given as an example. It's not the same as the regular farmer's market event, which is harder, so you wouldn't have to wait for it to come again for the task. Only thing is that you loose out on the special decorations.

 

I must not have done it soon enough to get the simplified one... I've tried a few different events and never been able to complete one without using actual money.

 

The simplified one is available as soon as the event plaza is. If you've completed another event and the task isn't cleared then there is certainly a problem.

 

If It's the Inaugural Event Quest it will go eventually. I missed doing it as well and it didn't dissapear off the Quest List until I finished one the other events at around level 26 or so. I can't remember which one triggered it.
If it helps, you WILL get to complete an event without having to use MM's to finish... but it can be very frustrating
