I really don't see the point of the new Profile Post feature. Prior to this I could already post statements on my profile, and set who could view these statements or reply to them. I also had the ability to message friends in the game back and forth (under the friends function) and in forums like speaker's corner. Now there's a fancy new display, and page of profile posts, almost like a duplicate forum/message system. All well and good (I suppose).....until you consider the time, resources, and coding it took to add this feature. Until you consider that we have asked ad nauseam for new land, new events, better prize selections, Level 4 Production Mastery and/or added production, and many other features on which said time, resources, and coding would have been much better spent.

I don't understand why the powers that be would go to such efforts to create a 'new' feature that is so unnecessary (since we already could do what it does), while ignoring the pleas of the player for game improvements that would actually be truly useful. So, here's a poll to see what player's opinions are on this topic. Please, speak your mind and cast your vote. Thank you, my fellow Mayors.

Well, seeing as the forum software is made by a third party, it may have just been a feature they activated or was part of an update to the software. The online indicator changed too, and you can reply directly to highlighted text. Whoever takes care of the forums might be different people anyway, so resource allocation is up-in-the-air. The down-time was very short, anyway.

But yeah, I think it's a mostly useless feature. Feels too much like a social network kind of thing. Much rather see a PM system, like you know, most forums have. That's not the kind of thing I want to do in-game, generally. And again, I'd like to be able to switch languages and stay logged in without changing the game language.

Hmm, I thought I noticed a change on Friday, but today it seems the same as before? Could be my OS though.

I cannot determine what practical use it has...it's like a mini forum or something, or a public display of private messages; we certainly did not need it.

I agree. The privacy issue is very VERY unusual these days...:(

I did not much of a change nor did I see a display of private messages; but I don't think I even have any. I certainly would not like any private messages of mine to be viewed by anyone except the person I was messaging with. If they are now indeed being shown, I think it is ridiculous and should be removed. If it is set up that you can choose to show your private messages, I still think it should be removed just in case someone clicked on it by mistake and saved their profile page after.

We can't even send private messages. It's just showing comments/status updates on any public (I assume) profiles, not unlike Facebook, or something similar. Profiles aren't public by default, at least.
