At times I have too many production points, and too little capacity. I have all the production sites possible, but with events and expansions going on all the time, I often run out of building materials and production capacity.

Wouldn't it be nice, if I could double my production output by doubling the production point investment/input. alternatively have the same effect as the good old expessos and spend half the time on any production output if I invest double or tripple production points.

just wondered how many saw mills you had??? I am on level 56 and still only have 5 saw mills producing 32 beams an hour each. I have 8 Farms and 6 Bakerys and 4 Brickyards with 2 more permits. I also have 112456973 Production points and 29312526 Education points. so my theory is if we could upgrade our production sites to any limit, or get the chance for more saw mills,( which I think every one struggles with)

@wrighty8 You'll get another mill permit at level 65, by which time the need is much diminished. There once were two extra permits available for MM. I bought one as needed, but the removal was with such short notice that I couldn't grab the other, which is really unfortunate because beams are the bread & butter of RC. I'd still really like the other, to save me some time in events mostly, as at my level it's not mill products I need. Beams are needed for so long that the removal was really a bad move, and I'll insist every chance I get that they be brought back, or given occasionally like the extra bakeries have been (which is an option I like less as it is imbalancing in the long-run).

@wrighty8 I would build those brickyards if I were you. :) I spend ALL my CC on rooftiles. 6 brickyards flat out building tiles, and still it takes me weeks to make improvements. I am upgrading Condo Towers just now - I need 1000 rooftiles and 2500 tiles for each one. That is ridiculous given current production rates.

I also feel that balance is LOST with the current set-up; I don't have to balance workers and capitalists at all, I have enough workers for the drops in events and this gives me more than enough PP. 18 million and counting. If I could use PP as "overtime" to increase production, I'd have to start swapping capitalists for workers, and as everyone else would too, this would "cool" the market to some extent with there being less CC to buy goods.

If you are listening Fluse, this is the first thing you need to look at. There are many, many threads on the subject.

Hi brucenic yeah I am going to build them next week hopefully, its a pity you only place them in certain places would be nice to have all manufacturing sites together away from cities. I always produce bricks with my brickyards and try to stock pile them, and sell them if you need C/C fast. Roof tiles I will usually produce only when I need them takes time but its like a slow cooker put them on before you go to work then they ready when you get home. like I have said before why restrict how big we want our houses or manufacturing sites, why not have a brickyard that produces 100 bricks or 500 bricks or even if you want them faster it costs you treble the Production points.

We could buy two mills before, at least, but they were removed to 'balance' progression, or what I really think, to make you spend more MM in upgrades. Beams are needed in large amounts from the beginning to the middle levels, so for a significant portion of the game, and then you need a lot of paneling. Removing this relatively cheap source of income also makes it harder to trade for brickyard products as you transition and don't need the mill products as much.

It's also harder to supply the event items requirements that were increased around the same time. It definitely slowed down the already slow game, but not by much. It's had consequences on the market because beams are pretty much the gold standard and the price is pretty much fixed. Though prices have mostly ceased to fluctuate as wildly as before, I doubt removing two mills was much of a factor, at least directly. These prices actually make the game progress faster in some ways. All in all, it was a pretty illogical decision in my opinion.

Exactly. That people can such variance in bakeries is absurd. I have seven as I've gotten all of the extras, but I've seen one claim to have eight, maybe because they could do a special event at two tiers. So some have three while others have eight? And it's not helping supply. I still advocate equality in facilities. If BP actually felt we needed more bakeries, why not just give us more permits? I get the incentive of production facilities as rewards, but it ultimately leads to great disparity.

And yeah, plenty of threads on this already. In fact, I've been meaning to reply to the 'main' one…

  10. My personal opinion is that 7 bakeries is more than enough once you get into the higher levels, we have one event where we are rewarded with a bakery once a year. If i decide to do the event again the bakery will more than likely sit in the designer depot maybe the devs an alter this event to reward a mill to those that want it, however they will also have to include a much needed higher level in events at the same time

I'm at level 47, I have played for more than 3 years, with some "cool-down-periods" when things got stuck for too long. I have only 5 sawmills, 5 bakeries, 6 brickyards and 8 farms. I have weeks on end where I do nothing but just collect rent and harvest farms and and start new productions on sawmills and brickyards. And nothing else. I then log out again. The result is that I spend a lot less time in the game, than I would, if there was any thing I could do. But it can take at week to get enough building materials for the higher level buildings and improvements. I get the point that you need to balance your city under certain constraints, but it makes no sense, that you have so strict limits. It makes ud very bound to the same direction i all cities.

I only have six of the bakeries built. It'd become difficult or impossible to keep up on wheat if I build more. And this is where even one more farm won't matter much. The main advantage to more bakeries would then be the biker event, but I'd need more farms to keep up with the bakeries. As I can't even make enough soy to keep up with six bakeries for most cycles, two farms would do more good than another bakery.

And even all those bakeries can't keep up with supplying my city anyway. They exist pretty much only for events/CC.

This is very much the problem with the way production is currently handled. Despite being free to do as you wish, you pretty much have to focus on production before all else, thus your path is somewhat limited. That's much less of a problem than disparity tough.
