Hi :). I would like to know when a specialist gets a specialization different than rookie. I have too many level 5+ rookies and am failing a lot emergencies.

Note: all my specialists are fully trained from the academy only using edu points.

EDIT: Now when the tread is in the speakers corner share your strategies about using vitaminX and creating/maintaining specialists. When do you fire a rookie?

I find it difficult too to admin my emergency effective - so too would like more advises. I think that you schould use your vitaminX for traininbg some of the newones - I think it helped me...

Personally I find vitaminX hard to get for free so I don't use them for training. There is no guarantee that the student will get a specialization which is what I'm asking for.

Do you know that you get free VitX from the barrels in the water?

What barrels? Is it in a higher level than I am (27)?

BoToo said: "Personally I find vitaminX hard to get for free so I don't use them for training"

What do you then use your vitaminX for?

No. If you buy the water plots you get driftwood and barrels
The barrels cost 1000 cc to remove and as a reward you get free Vit-X

I don't use them for now(and I have less than 500 anyway) but probably will use them to maintain contracts on a really hard to get specialists like contamination(haven't have any yet).

    Thanks BigWillem1;-)

Ok, BoToo. I think the opposite way - maintain'ing contract can be done with coins - making good emergencywards cost vitaminX...

That is what makes this such a fun game. You have so many options and there is no right or wrong way to do things to build your city. It is yours to do as you wish.

In my experience, the more you train a rookie, the longer it tends to take to get a promotion offered. I usually don't get an offer until level 6-8 and I train them fully. When I wasn't capable of fully training them, I'd usually get promotions by level 5. I've never seen a rookie not get offered promotion, even if it takes until level 9. Level 10 takes so long to reach that I've never held out that long. You can refuse a promotion and you'll have a chance at another one, but it usually takes a few levels for the offered promotion to change. I'm not sure any one specialist is really harder to get. I've seen them all offered as first promotion at some point. You mention Contamination, others have usually said Engineer.

When to fire them is a matter of how capable your city is and what you need. In the earliest stages I wouldn't train them much if at all. It was more economical in time and EP to just leave them untrained and fire them after one or two contracts. I focused on Efficiency (quantity of medals) before Motivation (quality) as you can get more boosters that way, which mean more rewards, including EP and RIs to maintain your EP supply. As your city grows, you work toward better-trained specialists to give better-quality medals and keeping them around longer. Try not to spend more EP than you gain so that you can always replace one. I now usually renew for up to 1,000,000 EP and a single specialist lasts me months.

I'd never use Vitamin-X to renew because it's too expensive. It's only worth it to train, and in my opinion, only if you get Dedication on the gold trait, which gives you 15 extra deployments, maximizing your EP efficiency. If you get Ingenuity and/or get lucky with Unpredictability a few times on other traits after that, you will be able to max Motivation and Efficiency eventually as you level up. You get 25 extra points as you level, which is enough to fill 2 1/2 sections of the bars. Alertness doesn't need to go past the gold trait for maximum effect.

A fully-staffed & fully-trained emergency crew will take a long time to build, but you can get some nice things from boosters.

Yeah I know the boosters are really nice that's why I'm asking. At the moment I have 7 Brownstone flats at level 2(saving materials to upgrade them to level 3) and have 200k+ EP but low specialists. I just got lucky and have 3 specialists in the hospital and now I'm working for the other 2 buildings :).

You are right about the training at early stages but now I'm getting 3-4 men emergencies and am fully training motivation so I can get silver and gold medals.

Thanks for the advice about vitamin-x.

I am still strugling with this and please tell me:

If an emergency need more than one specialist, am I right that it then is more expencive (cost more contracts) to do it? And what is the reward (medals) then? An addition of each perticipating specialist? the reward (medals) from the "best" specialist? or what?

In the Booster Pack Shop, are the reward from ex gold better than from ex silver or do I just get more of them?

And just for one more time, I am Danish and appoligize for my English - hope it is readable..

It costs one contract per specialist. If you sent 3, they each loose a contractpoint
Their skills are added and you score the resulting medals
No, they are (largely) the same but you have a chance that your prize will be doubled

In my opinion: the platinum medals give the worst rewards (mostly improvements)
    It's fine :)

Either I misunderstand you or you are wrong....?

You score the medals from the most giving specialist - I just tested it, because I could see something was wrong.

To me this means that I only shall use so many specialists for each emergency that I find it realistic to get the medals, and if possible one with good medals and the others with few and bad medals.... Am I right?
