The idea of this thread is to find out what we the mayors like and dislike about the game over the last year. So, What do you think?

    Here are mine:

    Likes:

    • The game has gotten a great deal more stable. Rarely goes down compared to a year ago and hardly ever locks up and crashes, Thank you.
    • The new playing fields.
    • The new Residences and Commercials
    • Expansion to level 75 up from level 50
    • The new special events
    • Boulder drops are picked up in ten seconds not fifty minutes. Thank you
    • Hiring of Sephiroth
    • The producer letter promising more openness with the mayors
    • The fact that RC/BP admitted there was a mistake during Winterfest 2013 and reoffered the event and a special bonus. We need more of this.
    • All of the Moderators - They are the unsung heros of the game, you guys are the rock of the cities.
    • Metro Money rework I hated it at first now think it was the right thing to do.
    Dislikes:
    • That most of the likes occurred in the early part of the year and we have not had a lot since.
    • I recently realized that the whimsical factor seems to be missing. I missed the mini van this Holiday season with the tree on the roof driving around the city. :(. We used to have several such little touches that have gone away. (probably signs of the game growing up)
    • The loss of X-presso.
    • No new weekly events, challenges, residences, commercials, manufacturing or expansion suggested or hinted at from RC for nine months.
    • Sephiroth has been MIA in the Forum since March.
    • The loss of several long time advocates/friends in the Forum because they became bored with the game ;);)
    • Glitches and bugs that never seem to be fixed.
This is my short list. What are yours? Let us here what they are.

  2. thanks billyjim for your post i totally agree on nearly all of your likes/dislikes, in addition i can add.

    Likes:
    1) the partial repair of the cineplex and the possibility of seeing up from 3 movies to 10 movies .
    2) the streets and squares are now unlimited.

    Dislikes:
    1) no higher levels for advanced Mayors
    2) no follow up letters from the producer

Generally, I like the changes and new content. I know I talk little and am vocal when I do, but I do enjoy the game over-all. I don't intend to sound overly-negative, and I know work is being done.

    Like:
    • MM confirmation.
    • Emergency shutoff option.
    • New playfields, mostly, albeit a bit sparse.
    • Rock Festival was added. Luxury RV is a great earner even in this crippled market. New special events were nice.
    • MM pricing and permit rework in general. The ever-increasing price is fair enough and forces some diversity and balance.
    • I've noticed progress in the background. More stable, Cineplex works better (their control or not, they obviously have some influence over it.)
    • Obstacle clearing, though I liked the old spawn rate of trees and such.
    • Chateaux and other new permits.
    • Sublevels and comet packs are a nice bonus.
    • Some future goals outlines, if vaguely.

    Dislike:
    • Despite MM confirmation, the option is off by default which just reenforces the idea that BP wants you to waste MM so you have to buy more. BP probably knows that a lot of people never look at options or read the manual.
    • MM pricing and permit rework: the only real negative is that the costs get crazy, making value questionable. High-level permits seem like they will be expensive for what they are.
    • I abhor that mill removal. Everything about it, but especially the short-notice 'get it while you can' feeling of the deal. Just comes off as greedy and imbalancing.
    • No Champagne for the birthday event.
    • Event rebalance is mostly just fake difficulty and doesn't really change anything for advanced players for the most part. So it's more like it just wastes time.
    • Events and rewards are stagnating.
    • A lot of seemingly half-implemented things. Level-cap increase but no permits after a significant time, Loot-O-Matic rewards that are known to exist yet missing, newer permits not in boosters, manufacturing facilities have been take and give, which sends mixed signals. The state of things makes this at least understandable though.
    • Comet booster exclusive permit is a bad idea as it limits availability too much due to shooting stars being themselves limited. It would be nice to have them as special rewards more, like during the Football Party.
    • Forum language segregation. Sorry, I'm multi-lingual.
    • Cash for Action seems to be totally broken after some changes were done.
    • A lot of talk and little to show with very little explanation. I do understand that stuff happens. Bureaucratic stuff especially, and the need to translate everything. Though even very simple errors are still present. Castle Carson's footprint, for example. But there is a near-total communication breakdown. I know there is probably little to report development-wise beyond what had been said and most people probably don't get/care, but small updates keep people happy. Regular maintenance and FB/Twitter updates have stopped almost entirely.

So while exactly what is being worked on is still vague, it's hard to imagine that it's impossible for some things to be given the proper attention when they should be simple, especially since there have been comparatively significant additions, such as Season 4 itself and other new permits. I know some programming, so I am both sympathetic and dumbfounded. I know it can be done since it has been before. No idea how big the team is or if they work on other BP games as well, so the current situation is open to way too much interpretation, and as you can see, a lot of it has been negative beyond petty whining. My best guess is that resources are currently spread thin and BP doesn't want to look vulnerable as a company.

    The new levels
    The quick clear of debris
The new playfields with more space!

    Dislikes
    No more expresso
Lack of communication from the devs
That my ERS has been broken for much of 2014 and is still not fixed (again no communication from devs on this one, poor Pirate has to put up with me nagging!)

  5. I like loot a matic (have gotten several great rewards)
    The Mystery Building seasons
The quest rewards for the most part
The Cinema (it is so nice to have a viable way to get bucks)
    The ease of selling products
Being able to constantly change and improve my city.
    The event info charts
Being able to either look up in archives or get an answer to pretty much any question I have
    The support staff,moderators, and friends

    Dislikes:
    limited grocery permits
not being able to get some of the perks from early quests, this is due to the fact that in the beginning I did not fully realize the benefits or perks of events and frankly, not having the resources to complete them. Maybe you could get the with bucks.

Overall I love this game! It is so much more user friendly than the other game I play. Have been playing for almost 3yrs and not bored. Thank you so much for this game and the moderators.

The Emergency System (which I find quite amusing because it was why I stopped playing a year ago or so. Gotta laugh at myself).
    The new playing fields.
    I love the Loot-A-Matic!
Mystery Buildings, although all I got this time were Urbyroad, that ugly red lip thing lol, and 3 Bohemian Cube Houses.
    The Cinema to get MMs.
    Comet Packs.
The new, easy way of clearing debris.

    Dislikes:

Not being able to put my Power Buildings in the inventory and move them to a different area.
Event prizes still seem rather low end to me.
    No XPresso.

Not much in the way of dislikes. I think this is a great game!

Cinema that works (for me anyway; most of the time).
New playing fields with new manufacturing buildings for the new houses.
    Unlimited streets.
    Calendar.
    Mods do a great job.

    Dislikes:
Inadequate farm, mill and brickyard permits.
Very reduced spawn rate (no vit-x from sea).
    No Xpresso.
Event prizes not worth it for higher level players.

Agree with most of what has been said here. Overall am happy with the game, but there are a few things that need changes.

Likes: All the new stuff (events, buildings, playfields, comet packs, Loot-O-Matic, etc)
The Cinema instead of Cash for Action is very convenient.
Level 4 upgrades and Commercial Upgrades.
Mods who try their darndest to help us with every concern.
    Extra Levels for Mayor

Dislikes: Ever increasing log in issues.
Third fishery spot but no third fishery permit.
No Manufacturing Facility upgrades to keep up with demand increases from Commercial upgrades and additional playfields/houses.
Bring back X-Presso...this really damaged event related production ability.
Size of new playfields compared to original field; not enough room for all possible buildings. Need more land, it goes so fast.
The weekly events need serious revamping or at least different prizes.

Extreme Dislike: All these recurring, ever increasing glitches that cause us to be unable to play the game, and how it's taking longer to fix every time it happens; not to forget how it seems to coincide with the deadlines for completing events. It's a server thing....so maybe get better servers?
