I propose a little 'verbal' game...a bonding moment we'll call it. I have heard that many long time RC players are no longer with us (and have seen a few leave even). I have seen the tone of forum range from very negative to mostly positive. But I am most impressed with the fact many more players seem to be speaking up these days than when I first started playing RC. I also note that it seems the more we talk, vote on polls, share ideas, etc., the more we get BP/RC to actually do. Solidarity goes a long way, and we are essentially a community here. Here's how the game works:

Each person posting to this thread posts a positive comment about RC...something you like about the game, something good BP/RC has done to improve the game, why RC is worth sticking with, that sort of thing. Here's the twist: try not to simply repeat a prior post...rather, let's see how many different positive comments we can get, and how many players we can actually get to post. In this way, we can learn a bit about each other while adding a positive tone to forum, and showing BP we are a united community. Maybe they might even take our gripes a bit more seriously, if they see we have praise (and loyalty) to offer as well.

Here is my positive post: I like the people here in forum. I have met many nice players, have made a few good friends. I like that players are helpful to each other, and even engage in cheerful banter. It truly feels like a community family here, and I would love to see that grow.

  2. I will have been in the forum for 2 years in a week or two what bought me to R.C. is that it is a really good building game and you know, when you log in the next day your city will still be growing and not destroyed by someone else while you were sleeping.:D

What would I like to say, there is way to much to put in a single, quick quip. But, here it goes. I enjoy the release the game gives me from my everyday life. I get that relief with out destroying anything, Killing some one or some thing. I could continue but by the guide lines set for this thread I would probably keep others from commenting because I had posted before them. I can not wait to see the answers.

when I play I think of absolutely nothing but the game, which is perfect with the daily challenge of a "work-life-balance-puzlzle". I love the way I can dive into the game at times, moving bits and pieces, and finding new goals, big and small. And at other times, I'm just collecting rent etc. while passing by doing other tasks, love it!

  5. Thankyou Geflin for this post, there are so many positives to this game I will let everyone else have their say on this and I hope many do voice their opinion. After a year of playing R.C. I volunteered to become a mod. Since then my passion for this game is still as strong as it was since I first started playing. :):D

I have been playing RC since (roughly) October 2014, but didn’t find the Forum until early this year. I investigated a lot of other Tycoon style City Building games, but it was Bigpoint’s ‘soft sell’ business philosophy that impressed me the most. Other than the cost of your ISP, you can play this game absolutely 100% free or you can ‘choose’ to buy all sorts of extra buildings or Metro Money etc to speed things up or simply add something special that is not generally available. Long may that last.
The game design is outstanding throughout and has rightly won numerous awards since its release in 2012. I find it relaxing, frustrating and slightly masochistic in terms of what you have to do chasing that elusive level 4 mastery for some of the buildings! But all of that adds up to a totally immersive and enjoyable experience. This is a testament to those behind the scenes developers, their teams and not least, the helpful (and often hilarious) members of the Forum here, with a wealth of freely given experience that in my opinion makes my Rising City feel like it’s part of the world community.
It also cannot be said enough that the Forum itself would not function at all without the tireless work and sometimes thankless tasks that the Forum Administrators and Moderators perform :)

I forget when I started, last forum anyway. I like that the game is free and has no goals.

Hmm, if I had to choose one thing, what I like most about RC is that it doesn't require you to be in front of it constantly or pay unreasonably to advance. The pace is really adaptable to one's available time and isn't so engrossing that it keeps me away from other tasks, serving well as a momentary break/diversion.

I became a Mod because I had seen how hard they work to help the players (and having played for a couple years I had seen how much there was for the Mods to do). I have seen many positive changes in RC in the recent past (also part of why I became a Mod). That being said, I will follow Tassie's lead and allow everyone else to have their say...but would encourage all our wonderful Mayors to speak up:D

I just like the way that as you upgrade buildings and get new permits the city plan changes, and no one plan fits all scenarios, so you get free choice as to how to lay out your city.

I love the fact you can play the game for five minutes or five hours and you still feel that you have moved forward in the development of the city.

I like the other Mods I became a Mod to help my fellow players succeed.

Thank you Geflin for starting this thread.
