  1. this just happened 5 minutes ago. WHY? the top price allowed went from 750 to 675. That is (edit). now I have all these beams, and can't sell them for more than 675 when i had been selling them for 745? anyone have any idea why this happened and if it will be fixed back?

Supposedly the prices and limits are based on the prices offered in the Market Place. Some time I believe it is truely random. Good luck. Hopefully the Moderators can give us a more logical answer. :D

  3. nothing yet, but they are back to 750 max. doesn't help me for the 500 i sold at 675. no good.

I think you are forgetting it is a real market with real people making decisions to buy or not. When you say the top price went from 750 to 675, what you are actually talking about is the bottom price from a seller's point of view.
There have been a few events in a row where many beams were needed; therefore more were bought in the market than usual, and less were sold. So the price went up. As more offers are being made now, and there is a less desperate need to buy - the price goes down.
This is how the real world works and so the market itself is working perfectly.

On the other hand, the fact that beam production is severely and artificially limited is s significant flaw in this game, IMO.
But hey, that's why you are getting 750CC each for them.

  5. I am not talking about what they are buying them at. i am talking about the high ceiling (cap) number that the game will let me input went from 750 to 675. i don't think there should be a cap on anything. if someone wants to pay 10,000 for a beam, they should be able to. i am just mad that I bought some for 600, was selling them for 749, and now I can only sell them at a max of 675. which means the $ I make off of each went down significantly.

OK - Sorry I misunderstood. I thought the caps were at 50% and 150% of average price, and checking on bricks, this is true. I think this is OK as it stops you making a gross mistake when you enter the sale. The min and max would track the average price and would go up and down as required by market forces.
When I checked, this seemed to be true for beams as well - the average was 500, min was 250, max 750. But, the LOWEST sale price was 700 - so the average could not possibly be 500 - so RC are fixing the market. Checking back, the average brick price was wrong too, it just wasn't as obvious.
Hand on heart, I think is wrong and the market should be allowed to follow supply and demand.
But, as I said before, RC has messed up big time by not allowing enough permits for farms, mills, brickyards etc and material prices would rise and rise completely distorting the game if they did not cap it in this way. It would be too easy for new players as they could sell materials at ridiculously high prices, and too hard for mature players as it becomes very difficult to build higher level buildings as they need so many materials, and the only way to get enough is to buy on the market.

So, I believe the cap is wrong, but is needed. The real solution is more permits (or improvements for manufacturing buildings) which would allow the market to stabilize at realistic values.

The BP price control that I remember is:
    Lumber min 15 max 150
    Beams min 60 max 750
    Concrete max 750
    Barley max 30
There was a OA telling they imposed price control to prevent prices to fall to low as that would make it harder for new players.
As they also imposed max prices its obvious not the whole truth.

  8. I dont mind paying the 750 for cement or the 30 for barley, i refuse to buy bricks that are between 3500 and 4500cc each
and roof tiles, needless to say the growth of my blossoming metropolis is getting to be a little stagnant with only a few of upgrades each week
