  1. how do you even increase their skills at all? I've extended their contract length a few times before but none of the three yellow bars seem to even go up so I stopped bothered wasting the book supply on them for the time being

    thanks a lot either way!

  2. Specialists earn experience for every emergency they attend. After a specialist reaches an amount of experience, they level up and you then have points to spend increasing his/her abilities.

  5. still not sure I get it especially I've already clicked the Extend button a few times. and theres also that I already have a hospital specialist but the task to get one is still remaining on left side of screen. guess I'll try look it up some more, thanks still

  6. The best thing to do is continue going to emergencies and earning medals. It's going to be awhile before you earn any points to spend and increase the yellow bar.

Improved stats (yellow bars) are achieved firstly by spending more EP (and Vit-X) in the academy when you train a new rookie.

Subsequent level ups add a few points (1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5 I think).

how do you get a rookie to advance to a specialist

The only thing you can do - is to lv-up the rookie. At lv-up there is a chance that the rookie becomes a specialist - but there is also a chance that the rookie will stay as rookie (rookie is a specialist too).

Some weeks ago I made some 'drawings' - I couldn't figure it out either - maybe it will help you:

The first link - posted by TelluXIV - post 4 - you can read about how many exp-points is needed before lv-up.

kimmi the best explanation I have ever seen of the leveling up process. Wizz you need to add this to a FAQ's posting with the typo fixed. My humble offering.
