City planning

I don't like the fact I have to put a commercial building like a Hollywood Diner in the middle of my residential houses. I wouldn't want to live next door to a commercial building. Could not such thing as trees be an option instead that maybe need apples or other fruits, then the city would be greener.

 

You do not need to build commercial buildings for your residents. But, then you only get your basic rent. Your residents need certain necessities to improve their lives, the better their needs are met, the more rent you can charge. How many of us would go to an orchard or a garden every day and pick the fruits and vegetables we need to feed our families, be honest. Not to mention Meat, milk, grain etc. Commercial buildings in a community are a necessity.

 

I had a black berry lunch yesterday. It was great. Free food. Now can you see the beauty of the community comming out in the morning to feed on berries? Amusing. It reminds me Revelation pictures - Lion and sheep will eat together.

 

Well lets face it, neither of the scenarios are realistic: having a tree that provides you with berries/fruits as the only food or a diner that provides you with french fries as the only food. With this "logic" in the game joycejones' suggestion could be just as good as the current situation with commercial buildings.

 

You see I take a symbolic view. The Fruit Stand and Bread Baskest stand in for all of the grocery stores and bakeries, the tomatoes, rolls etc. for all food stuffs. The game would get uncontrollable if we started having every variation of item possible. This is a simulation game and a simple one at that. So lighten up guys, I know you are picking on us. But I was trying to answer a legitimate question here.

 

I still think the choice of the odd fruit tree wouldn't go amiss instead of or as well as a Hollywood Diner.

 

It would it would be fust as symbolic as the diner
