Population numbers can be misleading. Workers, Students, Capitalists could be misleading, Depending on the size of each residents. A suggestion would be to color code the foundation view to showcase the type of residents in each property. When collection items for quests would give a better idea for the balance. One may have a hundred residence in one property and take hours to collect items . Where as many properties with a smaller amount of residence could collect faster. Or, increase the amount collected based on residency and make it proportional. 240 residence in a property with a max collection of 16 does not equate to receiving six or ten items from a smaller residence with shorter collection times. Color coding residency may help achieve a better balance than just the raw number of residence distribution reported in the menu. Any thoughts.

I am little confused on exactly what you want to differentiate. Type of residents, number of residents, time to collect rent, a combination of all or some of these?

The only issue I can see is that with all of the variables you wish to include it would be visually very cluttered (a large number of very similar colors). The most effective colors coding uses two to four colors. Once you get past about six colors the multitude of shades get to be a detriment rather than a positive. I still like the idea but think the execution would have to be more focused.
