Can someone please explain to me how the drop rates work in events.

This has confused me ever since I started playing and seems ever more confusing the higher level I achieve.

If we take for example the Artist Week currently. I am on level 29 and am collecting paint cans. The event FAQ informs me that paint cans will drop from 'workers' when I collect rent BUT this rarely happens after the first drop and appears as though there is some kind of timer before you get a repeat drop. To further explain, take a suburban house with workers in residence then a paint can should drop every 4.5 minutes if you collect rent as the timer ends this happen on the first collection but doesn't happen again for approximately an hour when the house does drop a can again. If you have a higher quality property with a rent timer in excess of an hour they seem to drop at every collection.

Many thanks in advance for any replies.

  2. hello.
i get nice event drops mostly from residences with rent timer minimum of 2 hours.
those residences below 1 hour and 30min rent timer, have low quality droprate for events.

  3. When you collect rent from a residential building, you may also get a relevant !drop".
The drops come in either 1, 5, or 10. Or a combination of those. Ie, you can get a 5 plus a 1, so a 6 in total.

Some buildings generally give better drops than others.

As [RO]Turel97 suggests, it is rare to receive many drops from the low-level buildings with a short rent timer.
If you get any drops from a suburban home, enjoy it, as it is bit of a rarity.

If you wish to read more about the drops, there's been various threads in the Speakers Corner on this forum, aswell as "User to User" on the previous forum.

  4. The major feature of drops: It's RANDOM! :) Random in all possible aspects of the word.
Higher mayor level buildings tend to give better drops.
There's a rumor that upgraded buildings give better drops.
So no guaranties. Sometimes it works excellent, sometimes not as good, sometimes you could call it a Terror of Random.
If I said just "random", it would have been enough. You could also use words like unpredictable or unreliable if you wish, but random is just the best all-inclusive characteristics.

You can read through threads on old forum but I don't think it will do you much good other then confirming the Terror of Random. :)

I don't even dare to say usual phrase "Hope it helps". :D

Thanks that has explained a lot to me, instead of thinking that there should be a drop from each collection I now understand that it is a random drop.

Thread can be closed, many thanks.
