Not one hundred percent certain what you are exactly asking. If you are asking where does experience points come from. They simplest way to earn them is from your citizens every time you collect rent. Generally speaking the higher the rent the more experience points you receive. You can also earn experience points through the quests and events in the game, experience points are offered as rewards in these tasks.

I hope this helps to answers your question. I am sure several others will have additional input for you and feel free to let us know if I am wrong on my assumption. Have some fun with the game.

You also get xp from collecting from your manufacturing plants and quite a lot from building anything.
Collecting trees, drift wood, street trash and such give an insignificant amount.

yes, I mean experience points. It looks like it comes from many places. We know the value of rental revenue, need fulfillment revenue, time to be used to give these revenue, etc. it show in the pop-up window when clicking building. But we don't know how much we get the experience points, it doesn't show in anywhere.

It does seems kind of strange - and I don't think we can expect that the exp-point will be shown anytime soon according to a comment from Wizz #2 .

That is true, LordBigA and kimmi I would hazard a guess that there is algorithm for the calculating the number of experience points received but it would depend on number of residents, residential improvements, needs fulfillment, current level and who knows what else. I tried to work out the answer backwards but got into way to many variables for my abilities. Maybe one of the number crunchers among us can do the work for us.
