I know there have been a million threads about having harbours but most haven't been worked out.

My idea? A harbour witch you will build in the coastal area on top of the sea plots. There will be 3 different kinds of harbour area's each will be the size of 4x4. You will also receive an new kind of road. The harbour pier with witch you can connect your harbours for looks.
New deco items witch will consist of a Container ship a Bulk carrier and tanker. Also bridge crane, ore depots and container terminal

    The harbour buildings.
Each harbour building will cost somewhere between 700.000-1.200.000 cc
You will be able to unlock the harbour at lvl 40.

First of you will get an ore and coal harbour with witch you can import coal and iron ore from far away lands to build your city even higher.
You will get blueprints for a new factory. The Blast Furness. (200.000 cc to build)
Here you will produce with coal and iron ore T-beams, sheet metal and prefabs. With these new products your city will reach for the clouds.
BP could change old building so they need the new metal products. (will reduce the old amounts of products needed for these buildings.
Importing this will cost PP somewhere around 10-20k PP so all that spare PP will have some use too.

    Second harbour building.

    Food harbour.
Hear you can call in supplies of food witch you are short on (no need for more bakeries).
The cost of importing these products will vary from product.

    Construction harbour.
Hear you can import wood, clay materials and cement.
Same with the food harbour the cost of importing these products will vary.

Please read everything and don't vote no just because of the price.
If BP will implement this in there game they will change the prices anyway.

PS: Forum mods if you close this thread I haven't seen an idea like this ;)

I like the idea. Rather than changing the building materials needed to build our current structures. Why not just be able to import the materials needed. I like the food harbor. The materials brought in could increase the quantity of materials produced at production facilities, Coal could increase power out put, fertilizer could help farms, wood could help lumber Mill, Clay for brickyard, etc. We could order our products and have a certain time delay amd cpst for the products to arrive, varied by item.

  3. i also like the idea and it would be nice to see it introduced into the game

It took me some time to think about it (not to mention read through ;)) but I think it is a good idea. As it stands, it would take ages to implement, because it is related to changes all over the city (upgrading buildings one stage further with new materials, or introducing new buildings). So maybe change the order of introducing the ports? Start with the food and construction, which aid existing processes in the game, and then move to the third stage harbor which will be part of new advanced levels?

  5. I can understand the idea of the coal and ore harbour, but i kinda can't see the point of the others too. After all, there is the market from where we can buy the supplies we need.

  6. looks like this should be a completely new p/f

skippyroo1980 has an interesting idea. Why not make an industrial playing field. Which the harbor would be part of. We could have the harbor to bring in products to various heavy industries for distributing to the game. Maybe a Steel industry, Oil Industry, Plastic Industry, Manufacturing Industry, etc. In fact this could almost become a whole new game.
