  1. Hello to all!!!
    I just discovered this...
First you have to collect enough Education points. When you train 1 new specialist at the academy, you first have to buy as many skills as you can before you start learning (so much as it does not leave you more)
When he is ready, you hire him as a Rookie.Once he gets to the second level, he gets a good specialty.

(from a rookie became an chief fireman)!!!

Thanks, Lila! Do you also use the Vitamin X to get more skill points? I do - I think -if my memory serves me right - that I can get up to 100 skill points that way.

I still don't know what to do exactly - I guess if you have five scientist, you need to evaluate them and fired the ones that are at the lowest level. But only do it when you have someone else to hire.

  3. Hello truelinor!
I do it sometimes when I have enough student point
when I have someone new to the academy I raise it as long as it allows me, then does not let me raise more, tells me to start the training.
and something else, one with many talents from the academy when he reached the 8th level changed his specialty.(from a rookie became a medic)

LILA-SKILAKI Just to make it clear when the rookie changes to a different specialist. The process is randomn. You can not predict the final outcome.

I'll say - I have 5 Scientists! I need a Medic badly! I need some Vit X right now in order to train someone and then I will fired one of the Scientist and *fingers crossed* hopefully when the new employee chooses a specialty it will be a Medic (I also have one Diagnotician, which is how it's spelled but it's supposed to be "Diagnostician".)

I think you need an advice of the specialist:cool:
There is no need to keep 5 specialists of the same kind. If you need a Medic, fire three of them and train new ones.
The best thing is to get 2 of them of each speciality.
Sometimes if you get speciality and you don't need that one, refuse and wait to another occasion - the speciality may change.
The speciality doesn't depends from how many skill points you will give on them - it gives you more medals, better medals, etc.
The most important specialists for me are with highiest skill of 'engagement'.

There are three abilities: motivation, efficiency and alertness; and five characteriscics: ingenuity, unpredictability, dedication, proficiency and intellect.

Skill points are distributet do trainee's abilities.

What do you mean with "engagement"?

Sorry I don't know original names of abilities.
I mean this ability, when you get additional actions - he can make more actions before renew his contract:)

@T.STARK - yes, I will fired all but the two best scientist, but only after all their contracts have been used up. No sense in firing them before that, I don't think. And, I don't fire them until I have someone else ready since sometimes you need two of a kind to complete an emergency.

@7benjamin9 - are you always so precise? Thank you for the information. :)

@T.STARK You mean dedication - it tells you, how many additional contract assignments (ACA) your specialist will receive, when his contract is extended. That is correct.

For specialists, I usually select only students, whose:
    1. starting skill points total is 15* or more
    2. gold trait is "+ 15 contract assignments"
This kind of selection, saves me a lot of education points and, more important, vitamin-x along the road. Currently, I have 4 specialist with 15 ACA or more, 8 specialists with 20 ACA or more and 2 specialists with 25 ACA or more.

*skill points: 15 (starting) + 52 (education points) + 48 (vitamin-x) + 25 (successfully resolved emergencies) = 140 (almost fully developed specialist. 40 for alertness is OK, your safety grade won't drop)

@truelinor The closer biker's week is, the more precise I am.

Are you saying there is a way to choose which students you can train? How can you select only certain students?

Every student has to be trained, but his training can last from 8 up to 30 hours. This is what you choose.

Oh, I see. Yes, I add as much as I can -until it tells me I can't add any more. So, all mine train for 30 hours. But it takes a long time to get the Vitamin X needed. It's about the only reason I do the events now. Well, for the MM too, I guess.

Additional comment 1 July- I could just SCREAM!!! I finally got a new employee for the hospital and he's got a 22 length contract renewal, so that's great! He is also educated to the max. BUT! Guess what his specialty is?!!! He's another scientist! I need another scientist like I need a hole in the head! I could just fire him on the spot! Still 5 Scientists and not a single Medic!!! What am I doing wrong?!?

truelinor - you are doing nothing wrong. The assignment of specialists is random, or as random as a computer can get. I would look at your five scientist and when their contract is up fire the weakest one you have. In the mean time train a new specialist at the academy and try again.

I know it is frustrating but please do not double post in the forum. I realize the postings are a week apart, but it is still prefered that you edit the previous post with additional comment. Thank you.

You can accept or decline offered speciality. Decline "scientist" and wait until next level is reached. Do not accept the first speciality, that comes around.

How do you accept or decline a specialty?

Sorry about the double posting, but if you just edit your post, no one will notice and read what you put in it, I fear.

When ever the specialist is offered you are given the option of accepting or declining the specialist

I still don't know what you're talking about. This is the way I see it:
You train someone in the Academy - no place to see what specialty they will have, unless its hidden someplace I haven't found yet...?
You hire them in either the Hospital, Police Station, or Firehouse.
They start off as a Rookie.
They, at some point, change to a Specialist. No "accepting" or "declining" button appears - they just change.

So, where is it you have the option of accepting or declining a specialist?

EDIT: I found it!!! Never saw that before!
