I visited York Minster when I was a school boy (ex grass!!) and still remember how overwhelming it was to stand in the middle of the tower and look up. So solid. So much weight in one spot. Quite daunting!

So, here is your VOLCANO ...... (well, three actually :D:D:D)

Another place I went to with school was Coventry Cathedral so I'd like to see the INSIDE of what was once considered to be a very modern and radical building. And a question. Do you know why it was considered to be so radical .....:D:rolleyes:

Other than due to its design, no, i have no clue why it was considered radical!?? Enlighten me please?

Why stop at one RAINBOW.............. here are several. They are almost as beautiful as the light that shines through that window above on a bright sunny day.
As for the radical part (besides the design) ...... it was the first modern cathedral to be built in a North - South direction. They are usually build East - West. Another interesting fact ..... the symbolic metal spire was lowered into place by a helecopter!! Also quite 'radical' for the time. :D:D

Hmmmmmm ......... Looks like there are a few contenders for that position so here are a few......

As for the Albert Hall its stunning....... the closest I have been is via the radio. I listen to the BBC proms via the ABC (thats the Ozzie BBC) every year. A friend of mine who lived in London for several years tells me the best seats in the house for listening to the proms is right at the top. Apparently the sound reverberation is zero up there. The hall is so vast that even with the elaborate sound management discs there is still a slight echo. Who would have thought hey!

VERY impressive. I did wonder what you would choose. I would have been surprised if you hadn't included Moscow though. Another really interesting one is in Washington DC ..... a gold leaf ceiling no less!! (Their underground system is spotless, so clean and efficient).

.... and your next request is??
