Make it easy to see if there are new post/threads in the forum

How about a Little Lightbulb - which indicate that there are new post/threads:

you mean like when you "watch forum" on a section or a thread, you get alerts with the little red number in the corner?

 

I wouldn't know - I 'spying' on FAQ's - and nothing ever happen there - I'm gonna try to watch Tech Questions- seems to be most activ 'spot'

 

i dont think it works, unless something new is added, when editing a post it doesnt show in alerts, and thats usualy the case with FAQs so ive noticed. but yea the watch forum works great, i get alerts from all sections.

 

It only works when a new post is added - but it much easier to find some of the FAQ when you have them on your watch-list - and I had turn off all the alerts - so now I have turn them on again to see what happen.

 

I just go straight to the new posts section now. It is not as direct as your suggestion but is quicker than the old system of going through each section individually. I would not object to a notification that there were new posts of interest or alerts. Maybe we could even have a notification in the game field option. The Forum icon could change color when new posts or alerts are available.
