Stage 4 of Mastery Challenge of many residential buildings (from small prefab to urban cottage at least) requires to earn Production Points or collect rent from Workers. Does it mean all these houses may reach level 4 only if I settle them with Workers? I have a many level 3 buildings with Capitalists and Students so I'm quite disappointed to get know I must remove them or use keys just to be able to reach level 4...

Yes, some buildings require you to change residents to master them. It helps to look at the faqs beforehand so you know what resident will be needed. You can earn keys in various ways (city hall, events, boosters), or you can buy them with MM.

Part of the game unfortunately for the residencies that can have any of the three types of residents. In time you can change them back, and dont forget when you do upgrade them to Level 4 you get the choice of who goes back in, so not all is lost :)

You use a master key to change from workers to capitalists once challenge 4 is done. You should have already been introduced to them via tutorials if you are that far.

  6. No, the master key just lets you collect rent immediately for the new resident type. It has been known to be used as a means of getting a building through it's required "upgrade cycles" more quickly. I'll close this now.
