Over the years there have been several suggestions for adding new industries to the game. I would like to see what ideas the community has. Please tell us your thoughts about any new industries. Please if you suggest an industry list suggested benefits (products) and costs (mood and power loss)?

Some of the industries suggested before that I can remember are: Seaport, Steel Industry, Automobile, and Oil Refinery:

    What do you all think?

I haven't thought much of adding new industries honestly, because many of them seem to range from overreaching to pointless. Of all that I can recall being suggested, steel seems like the most easily integrated as it could just be another material. I see no place for roof tiles to be used on a tower block. Maybe we should have a glassworks, actually. So many windows…

But if there were to be any additions they should incorporate any materials retroactively. Concrete and cork could have been been much more fully integrated instead of just tacked-on for commercial upgrades, new buildings and the fourth level of old ones. Given the levels that they become available, there are many, many buildings that they could have been used in, which could help to even out the need for other materials (especially bricks), control progression to a finer degree, and the market would probably be more balanced. Honestly, I got so much concrete from boosters that there has been no need to make or buy it most of the time. The same can be said of cork, though to a lesser degree. I think the way those materials were introduced was poor.

Bit early for me on new industries as I have trouble keeping up with the current ones, but yes Steel Beams/Columns would be a logical addition. I am thinking it would probably be linked to any new playing field/Buildings that might be in the pipeline.

Steel Mills: supplied by Quarries, makes Steel Beams; effect/benefit (higher PP cost to make but used to build higher level type buildings, instead of wood beams/panels: make the production run reasonably short, say eight hours and make buildings require less overall beams). This could also be applied to brick requirements. I think it would work out well, but then I have suggested it before. No idea how the mood/power impact should go, that's not my brainchild ;)

  5. To have a new industry we are going to need new play field and high density building i am all for this one :):)

I also like the idea of new industries, Steel mill especially. As skippyroo suggests we would need high density buildings and land to expand into. With steel beams we could get some real highrises with population and facilities to match.
