Newbie question

Sorry for the rudimentary question for my 1st post... I have just started and I built the Lumber Mill but I can't seem to use it. There is an icon above it that looks like 2 sprockets. I can't for the life of me find what I'm supposed to do to make it work. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Have you been following the in-game tutorials? You need production points, which at your stage can be gained by supplying workers with tomatoes from a vegetable stand.

Thanks guys... I think I'm figuring it out. When I first started I was just buying and not paying any attention. I was just moving too fast and got ahead of the game and had things done before the quest asked for them. Now that I see the tutorials and quests I'm getting there.
