    One of the homes I have upgraded says it needs a vegetable stand. So I put one near it but only half the house is highlighted. Does the whole house have to be highlighted.

    covering half a house will be ok, if you hover your mouse over the house you can see if its needs are being met

    are you talking about where it says needs fulfillment revenue?
    another thing is when I hover over the vegetable stand there are homes that are highlighted, there are some with just a check mark in a circle. I am wondering the difference.

    the residences that are highlighted are served by that vege stand, the homes that are checked need the vege stand to fullfill their needs.
    is there anything else I can help you with on this matter
