  1. Are permit prices supposed to be fixed or different for everybody based on some criteria? Solar and Wind plants seem to have different prices for different players. We haven't checked other permits so far. This just surfaced by accident.

Also, solar for me going from 30 to 72 MM, more then double price, is this what point 11 of OA mentions that "some cost a little more"?

  3. Thanks. I didn't notice FAQ was updated already. :) Nasty surprise. That's what they call "unlimited". :D :D :D

So in reality, at the end of the day all permits are more or a lot more expensive. The info about many being cheaper and some little more expensive is misleading, if not completely incorrect. :)

    Well... they didn't lie. :p
If you have unlimited MM, you can buy unlimited permits :D:D

  5. Well we already know that with BP you always have to search for a catch. Now I'm not surprised they kept it secret until the last minute. :)

Now Wizz will be bussy updating FAQ. :)

Actually, you got a day and a half notice, not last minute. Some permits have gone down - eg the island deco was 90MM when I bought one, my next will only be 54MM and not cost 275kCC on top of that.

I haven't compared all, but that one sprang out as a pretty good deal to me.

I suspect that the variability in pricing depends on how many you might have already bought of that particular permit.

  7. Yes, I noticed the island too. And on first check I thought it was a sort of ballanced, some went up, some went down. Until I learned about progressively increased prices. So you get one good deal in exchange for twenty bad deals. :) But if it makes you happy, then it's fine. :)

Btw: you don't need to suspect. Just read the thread you are responding to. :)

Regarding notice: There is OA and not a word in it. Changes in FAQ somehow didn't make it to Alerts to notify me. So it's last minute anyway. :)

Do you actually KNOW how much the permit will go up by? I haven't bought my island at 54MM, but I suspect that the price increase will not be to 100MM after the first one, so the second, third and possibly even fourth will be a good deal. And I'd have saved 1 Million CC on top of that.

Regarding notice - the OA says that permits will be for purchase - given that they're unlimited I think I just assumed that they would increase the price gradually to stop people filling their sea with islands, etc. Sorry for reading into it something that wasn't there.

  9. Check the overall situation. I think you will understand what I mean by one good deal in exchange for 20 bad ones. No need for emphatic KNOW as I usually don't say things like that without at least some solid foundation. Solar supposedly for 158 MM (previously 30)to name the worst case known to me, followed by more expensive residentials ( plus 50 % half way through) or other decos etc. We haven't obviously done comprehesive check but the scrambled data we have so far seem to indicate quite clearly that using just the options you had before will increase your MM spending extensively. The exchange is some CC saved for a lot more MM spent. Check for yourself if my judgement is in/correct by doing your own research and calculations. :) You can then update/correct my findings and make them a lot more precise by suggesting overall percentage of MM spending increase.   Good luck buddy. :)

I can get a small tower permit for 48MM when I couldn't get anymore before. That doesn't seem too bad.

I can get a vintage duplex for 20MM - also doesn't seem too bad.

Power plants I'm not maxed out on placement of any, so can't check at the moment, but will comment if/when I do place the ones I have permits for.

Decos - I saw someone complaining that a fountain costs x MM for +11 mood. Ok, that wasn't a good deal, but if we look at the high-end premium decos (and I'll stick with island because I know the figures, but the lighthouse doesn't seem bad either) is 54MM for +320 mood. That's more than 29 fountains worth. Ok, if you REALLY want fountains in your city then that's bad. But if you want to up your mood then the island is the way to go.

Yes, my MM spending will go up because I want some more of some decent residentials, but not because they've shoved the price up.

  11. Seems like you are missing the point a bit again. :) But glad you are happy despite most prices going up, some of them in multiples. :) From what you say I also assume you will never buy any more exclusive items like Solar Power plant, Residential Tower or Designer Appartment, right? Since you probably bought all which were available before already? Which would further justify your view. :)

I had a lot more in mind but cut it down as Wizz will sure jump on us and stop our chit chatting when he wakes up. So we will have to continue elsewhere in our lovely views exchange.
