I have tried to keep my population of worker's: capitalists; and students the same. But now I have a lot more capitalists than worker's and students. several thousand more. How did this happen??

  2. Not knowing how large your population is, I see you have been playing for about 3 weeks though. In the early stages of the game you should probably need to concentrate on workers and building your farms and lumber mills, as your game progresses then look at having capitalists and students

As Tassie-devil says in the begining you need to have more workers so that you get more production points for manufacturing.. But you do need to keep a balance of all of your citizens. As your progress through the levels though you will find that the ratios will change. As I remember my play I started with a ratio of something like 2:1:1 Workers:Capitalist:Students, Then slowly as the need expanded for cc's that changed to 2:2:1 at about level 20 to 25 and about level 30 to 35 - 4:2:1. Now at level fifty I am running 6:2:1. Workers and students are only in residences that are restricted to those residents. So the ratio changes over time.

To answer your actual question. I have a question. Have you been upgrading your houses and keeping the residents the same? Every time you upgrade a house get the opportunity to place a new class of residents in the home and you increase the number of residents. I am guessing here. Have a good time building. You can adjust the resident in some of your houses with a master key in you inventory if you wish to re balance the number of residents you have. :D

Do you happen to have one or more Golden Linings Estates? There is a bug associated with its population that could easily put you up a few thousand.

  5. Hi Hedymay,
I've just checked your account, and you have 3 golden linings estates at L4 (I believe). These will have added significantly to your population. See this post by skb for details as to how much:
Golden Linings pop vs Top 100
This bug is known about, but we've not heard when it might be fixed yet.

I upgrade my buildings right away and noticed that this is when it happened. I am at level 37 now and have 22K capitalists...Almost 6K worker's and 5200 students. I have lots of keys to change my population but I don't thinks that will help and might mess me up more in the long run. Thanks of your help!

Yes I do have 3 golden lining estates and maybe your right....hope we can fix this. 22,000 Capitalists is a lot, compared to my worker's and students who are over 5,000 each. Thanks for your help!

  9. When you post in the top1 please remember to reduce your population count by that amount gl
