I have been monitoring my booster pack rewards for some time and i feel that we are not rewarded for our efforts

    1) first of all, there is no distinction between the different medal qualities, 25 platinum pack is 99% of the time worse then a bronze or a silver. There is no motivation to push experts to reach platinum if you can cheaper packs with same rewards and chances... this needs to be revised.

    2) residential improvements are still high percent of rewards, i can understand getting alot of them for copper/bronze because their are low quality, but higher packs should have less of these. IF you still think players like them, then try to up their quality in rewards: for each 100 classic RI, i have gotten no more then 5 higher quality RI... this needs to be revised.

    3) with the introduction of new materials (cork/cement tuna/sushi milk/eggs) there have been problems and from 1 unit these have gotten very generous, while old materials still have stupid low amounts which are even more useless then the RI....lumbermill products amounts need to be revised

here is the actual info for level 50

  2. Actually, the difference would be those exclusive buildings permits, that if you're lucky enough. I mean, definitely ain't gonna get a manor from copper or bronze booster packs.

However, from the items point of view, you're right, they are the same.

L.E. I voted "Not worth the effort" only because of those classic improvement items.

    Hi wizardelo,

I posted a bit about my own statistics on booster pack rewards on the German forum and hope you don't mind me sharing it here too, I thought maybe they can add to the discussion (and maybe make it more 'factual'?).

    -----------------------------

The evaluation was based on the content of 562 boosters (139x bronze, 228x silver, 160x gold, 35x platinum). So there was a total of 1547 single rewards (278 from bronze, 684 from silver, 480 from gold, 105 from platinum).

I devided the rewards into nine categories. The “special” category consists of MM, Vitamin-X, X-Presso (since the boosters were collected before and after the update) and permits for mystery buildings.

Rewards from these categories occurred as follows:

    RewardsIn %
    Materials24,2
    Revenue Goods12,5
    Improvements35,7
    Decorations6,7
    ES Items3,8
    CC, PP, EP, XP13,5
    Building Permits1,8
    Special1,8
    Energy0,06

In order to compare, I also evaluated each booster type (bronze, silver etc.) individually, and they came out (roughly) the same:

    Rewards inMaterialsRevenue GoodsImprovementsDecorations
    Bronze22,3 %14,0 %35,3 %7,2 %
    Silver26,0 %11,4 %36,1 %6,6 %
    Gold21,9 %14,0 %36,0 %6,7 %
    Platinum27,6 %9,5 %34,3%5,8 %

Rewards inES ItemsCC,PP, EP, XPBuilding PermitsSpecialEnergy
    Bronze3,6 %15,1 %0,7 %1,8 %0,0 %
    Silver3,9 %12,7 %1,6 %1,6 %0,0 %
    Gold4,4 %13,5 %1,3 %2,3 %0,0 %
    Platinum0,0 %14,3 %7,6 %0,0 %1,0 %

So overall it can be stated that around 1/3rd of all rewards were improvements and 1/4th were materials. Revenue goods and the category “CC, XP, BP, PP” came next and made up around 1/8th each out of all rewards.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    Some other little “facts”:

The different materials were divided fairly evenly in general and within in each booster category. The overall distribution looked like this:

    Type of materialIn %
    Lumber12,8
    Beams11,5
    Panelling11,8
    Cork11,5
    Bricks14,4
    Roof Tiles13,1
    Tiles15,2
    Cement9,6

And when looking at the individual booster types, the materials were distributed similarly evenly:

    BronzeSilverGoldPlatinum
    Lumber17,7 %11,2 %11,4 %17,2 %
    Beams11,3 %10,1 %13,3 %13,8 %
    Panelling11,3 %12,9 %11,4 %6,9 %
    Cork9,7 %11,2 %12,4 %13,8 %
    Bricks12,9 %14,0 %17,1 %10,3 %
    Roof Tiles14,5 %14,6 %11,4 %6,9 %
    Tiles14,5 %14,0 %18,1 %13,8 %
    Cement8,1 %11,8 %4,8 %17,2 %

When comparing materials from the two production facilities, the result was even more balanced:

    FacilityIn %
    Lumber Mill47,6
    Brickyard52,4

    BronzeSilverGoldPlatinum
    Lumber Mill50,0 %45,5 %48,6 %51,7 %
    Brickward50,0 %54,5 %51,4 %48,3 %
    --------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, a bit about the doubling of individual rewards (x2), which might explain a bit about how gold and platinum rewards are indeed 'better':

x2 generally only appears in Gold and Platinum boosters. The portion of rewards being doubled looked like this:

Type of boosterTotal rewardsx2 in %
    Gold48036,9 %
    Platinum10564,8 %

So about one third of gold rewards and two thirds of platinum rewards were being doubled. However, x2 is only applied to the four reward categories materials, revenue goods, improvements and CC/EP/PP/XP. Here are the ratios in regards to doubled rewards, the numbers are the percentage of all rewards that were doubled:

    MaterialsImprovementsRevenue goods
    Gold47,7 %45,1 %56,7 %
    Platin100,0 %72,2 %100,0 %

So basically, in those categories (I left out CC/EP etc. because they didn't interest me) half of all gold rewards are doubled, and in platinum awards all materials and revenue goods are doubled. That's (imo) what makes the difference between them and bronze/silver awards.
    ---------------------------------------------------

Of course this is only from my own boosters and I don't know if the numbers would be the same if other players did the same evaluation.

    ---------------------------------------------------
However, even though I think that the overall reward outcome is pretty good, I too think it could be tweaked here and there. Personally I would like to see a bit less 1* improvements and a few more of 2*, 3* and 4*. I am also no big fan of the amounts of PP/CC etc. Of course they can't be way higher, but maybe at least a bit higher (or less awards from this category).

I'm mostly cool with the number of materials, in fact besides permits they are the main reason why I play the emergency system as much as I can. Imo the 20 pieces of beams and paneling stick out as a bit lame compared to the rest. However, with increasing levels these might increase too, so I don't know if I'd still complain let's say 10 levels from now.
    ------------------------------------------------------

Hope this made sense, my English has become a bit rusty for this type of stuff :D I'm looking forward to see what others have to say, as I find this subject very interesting. Thanks for bringing it up on here, wizardelo :)

I like all brickyard rewards and all special building permit rewards. The lumber mill rewards, as Wizardelo says are useless. I have never won platinum medals, and the few packs I've cashed in (from Winter Stadium) have yielded very lame results. Hence I don't try and win platinum.

As regards doubling that Babandos mentions, 100% of all platinum materials rewards are doubled. Ok, but if I cash in 10 bronze medals and don't get doubles, I can cash in 2.5 times as many bronze medals for one platinum booster. ie I'd get 125% doubles! Silver is similar, 2 silver packs = 30 medals, 1 platinum = 25 medals, so it's not quite so good.

That's a slightly unfair comparison since bronze gets you 2 rewards, and platinum 3, but even so, I still don't think it's justification for platinum medals.

Today I got my 34th !!!!!! sunrise loft - this building is in every kind of booster. I had them in bronze as well as in platinum. There should be a difference of the buildings between the different kind of boosters.
The residential improvements needs to be reviewed as well.
It should not happen to get in a platinum booster in total 6 one-star improvements.
To earn platinum we need to skill our specialists with Vitamin-X.
I never have enough of the Vita - so I have to spend MM which I buy with real Money.
I simply expect much better rewards for my cash !

How did you do it? I ‘m level 34 and up to know I haven’t gained any building permits, absolutely none(!!!), even from golden packs, only home improvements, materials and some trees/flowers. I ‘m so jealous :(:(:(

I pretty much agree with wizardelo. If I put money into this feature I'd be incredibly disappointed. I can spend a small fraction of a what I earn in CC a day and get many more & better quality RIs from the RI shop than I have ever gotten from boosters. You really shouldn't be getting 1* RI's from anything above bronze medals, at the most. I'd rather get some more Trees and such.

I've turned in a lot of medals and I've gotten some nice permits, along with many that I likely won't use, but not a single one of the booster exclusives shown on the booster pack shop screen (Observation Tower, Old Fire Department, Mansion, Futuristic Tower Block). Those other medal-exclusive rewards need a boosted chance, I think, and they are definitely a primary motivation to use the ERS for me.

Getting low-level permits from high-level medals can be a bit irritating, but you can get high-level permits from low-level medals as well, so at least it feels somewhat less insulting than the oaks, firs, and pitiful amount of tomatoes from the Loot-O-Matic. :p You should have better results with higher medals — and maybe you actually do in the math per-pack — but I've had better results from lower medals, probably simply because they can be gotten more often.

All-in-all, I think it just needs some work. I'm saving my medals until the next playfield is released, at least. Now if only they'd put those New England Colonials into regular boosters. I definitely do not like the idea of Comet-exclusive permits, since sooner or later you will run out of chances to get them, unless they implement trading and people are willing to trade.

Haha, nice. I have gotten four, but I want four or six more. Eight or ten of any building is enough for me, for now. Though I gotta say, they look kinda nice all lined up on the shore like that. I'd gladly take some off your hands if I could though. ;)
