  1. I used this technique in the early stages of my City, when power and mood were a big issue. Instead of halting my developement until more power and mood become available I just played with high demands Residentials and continued my developement. It's smart as a temporary solution while developping. A bit laborious and tedious for everyday gaming, as mentioned above.

    @others up there ........

    With regard to the perceived "abuse", there are several aspect of it:
    1. There's above mentioned bug. Get's sorted individualy when the City is reset. Global solution has not been implemented yet.
    2. There's Production Facilities aspect, when the game obviously prevent's players from building extra high demand facilities for example just for events, and then hiding them to keep the mood and power high, or to manipulate with them like that just before collection.
    3. There's this Power Plant's issue, which could "work" the same way as Production. Get those stored plants out only when you for whatever reason need them, then hide again, which the game also prevents.
    Point's 2 and 3, if not prevented, would alow a different Power/Mood usage/manipulation in the game. I wouldn't call these an "abuse", it's just that developers decided to avoid them.

    Now it's possible to keep Status Quo with regard to point 2 and 3, if developers wish so, and yet allow Power Plants and Production Facilities to be moved to other playfields without being destroyed and rebuilt. Kimmi's idea is one way to do just that. Other suggestions have been placed before.

    It must have been pretty hard in the 'old days' playing this game - since you have to use this kind of trick ;) :p

    Everything everyone says is true and I agree. It is counter productive to spend the time required to gain so little of an advantage and also the powers in charge can and probably will correct this issue with little or no warning.

    My thinking exactly, they don't give forewarning when they "fix" something. One day when you log on, whaam "we have now fixed this bug, happy gaming".
